BREAKBEAT-DANCE-FUNK
Modulator can be described as Medeski Martin & Wood meets Bill Laswell. A funk/jazz intuition comes through in each of the dance beat tracks. And a bit of trance comes through in each of the funk throwdowns. Spawning sounds from organ, synth, guitar, drumset, looping, and live improvisational energy every night.
Billy Archilla began seeking these sounds through digital beat programming and synth composition in Sarasota, Florida. Performing in a keys-drumset duo was his outlet there but became quickly stifled by the music scene. It took moving to Boulder, Colorado to really begin his musical vision on the live-music scene.
Joining up with Holden Young on Guitar and Damon Scott (the Congress) on Drumset the group performs a funky-jazz set version of some deep synth electronica and breakbeat music. Performing mostly around Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins and Nederland this Fall 2011. Contact us here for CONTACT/BOOKING.
